I’ve never been particularly interested in having only one label.
I’m a blogger. An entrepreneur. A creator. A learner. Someone exploring product management and technology. Someone who enjoys books, ideas, and the process of becoming better at the things that matter. The things that truly matter to oneself.
This website brings those interests together.
But more than that, it is a record of a life being intentionally built.
So, Who Is Dora AY?
I started putting serious effort into blogging in 2020. Truly, I started learning how to blog in the same year.
At the time, I didn’t have a grand five-year plan for where it would take me. I simply enjoyed writing, learning, publishing, and discovering that the internet could create opportunities beyond the boundaries of my immediate environment.
And blogging did more than give me somewhere to write and publish online.
It taught me how to communicate.
It taught me to research.
It taught me about audiences, digital platforms, consistency, search engines, content strategy, and the strange but fascinating relationship between creating something and getting people to care about it.
Most importantly, blogging showed me that knowledge can become an asset when you learn how to communicate it well.
Years later, I’m still here.
And I’m still learning.
I’m Also Building Businesses
In January 2025, I officially started Minimal Skincare and Haircare Marketplace, a small business where I stock and resell body care products.
It was significant to me for a reason that goes beyond the products themselves.
It became the first business I’d started that actually crossed the one-year mark.
Some earlier attempts had ended before they really had the opportunity to become anything substantial. Money went into them. Time went into them. Effort went into them. Then, somehow, they disappeared.
This one stayed.
The experience reminded me that building anything meaningful isn’t always about having the perfect idea. Sometimes it’s about staying long enough to learn how to make the idea work.
Entrepreneurship has given me a practical education in patience, customer relationships, money, consistency, marketing, problem-solving, and resilience.
I’m still learning.
But I’m building.
And Then There’s Product Management
More recently, I’ve been exploring product management_ and I’m genuinely excited about it.
My background in the Foundations of Project Management course on Coursera gave me a useful foundation, but exploring product management has introduced me to an entirely different way of thinking about technology, businesses, users, and problems.
One of the things I find fascinating about product management is that you don’t necessarily have to be the person writing the code, designing the interface, running the marketing campaign, or conducting every piece of research.
But you need to understand enough about these different worlds to work effectively with the people who do.
That appeals to my curiosity.
I like understanding how things work.
I like asking questions.
I like connecting seemingly unrelated ideas.
And I like the challenge of turning a problem into something useful.
So this website will also document that journey_ not as someone who has everything figured out, but as someone actively learning and building toward what’s next.
What You’ll Find Here
doraay.com is intentionally broader than a traditional niche blog.
That’s because I’m interested in the intersection between work, learning, creativity, technology, business, and life.
I’ve organized the blog around five main areas.
Entrepreneurship
Building a business teaches lessons that books sometimes can’t.
Here, I write about entrepreneurship, business experiments, self-employment, digital assets, productivity, and the realities of trying to build something valuable from the ground up.
Some lessons will come from things that worked.
Others will come from things that didn’t.
Both are worth documenting.
Digital Creation
Blogging is still a significant part of my story.
This section explores blogging, writing, content creation, personal branding, digital publishing, and the process of building an online presence.
I’ve been creating online for years, and I’m interested in what happens when we stop treating content as something we simply post and start thinking about it as something we build.
Books & Learning
I love learning.
Books, courses, articles, conversations, experiments, and even mistakes have all contributed to how I think.
This section is for reading notes, book recommendations, learning experiences, useful resources, and reflections on developing new skills.
I’m particularly interested in the idea of becoming a person who can keep learning regardless of age, career stage, or circumstance.
Personal Growth
Not everything important can be measured by income, followers, qualifications, or career milestones.
Sometimes growth looks like becoming more disciplined.
Sometimes it looks like changing your mind.
Sometimes it means starting over.
Sometimes it means finally understanding something about yourself that you couldn’t see a few years earlier.
This section is where I write about intentional living, habits, mindset, experiences, reflections, and the ordinary lessons that shape an extraordinary life.
Digital Skills
Technology increasingly influences how we work, learn, communicate, create, and build.
I’m interested in becoming more digitally capable_ not necessarily by knowing everything, but by understanding the tools and ideas that can make modern work better.
You’ll find content around technology, artificial intelligence, product management, software, digital tools, and skills I’m learning along the way.
Why I Keep This Website
Social media is wonderful.
I’ve built communities there. I’ve shared photographs, videos, thoughts, products, stories, and pieces of my everyday life across different platforms.
But social media isn’t home.
Platforms change.
Algorithms change.
Features disappear.
Trends come and go.
And sometimes, you can spend years creating content without actually building an asset that you own.
That’s one of the reasons DoraAY.com matters to me.
This website is my little piece of the internet.
It gives me somewhere to write beyond the limitations of a social media caption. Somewhere to keep ideas that deserve more than a few seconds of attention. Somewhere to build a body of work that can remain discoverable long after a social post disappears from someone’s feed.
I don’t know exactly what this website will become ten years from now.
And honestly, I like that.
I’m interested in building something that can evolve with me.
I’m Not Here to Pretend I’ve Figured It All Out
There are plenty of websites where people tell you exactly how to become successful.
I’m not interested in pretending to be one of them.
I’m still figuring things out.
I’m still learning how to build better businesses.
I’m still developing professionally.
I’m still learning about technology.
I’m still discovering what kind of creator I want to become.
I’m still reading books that challenge things I thought I understood.
I’m still changing my mind about some things.
And I think that’s okay.
I’d rather document real progress than manufacture perfection.
So when you read something here, you’ll sometimes find practical information. Other times, you’ll find a personal reflection. Sometimes I’ll share something I’ve learned. It could be something I observed. It could be something I ordinarily feel I enjoy talking about. Sometimes I’ll simply be thinking out loud.
The common thread is curiosity.
More often, curiosity brings readers to my blog too.
